We are a Malaysian-Chinese family run restaurant committed to bringing authentic and exciting Southeast Asian dishes to Folkestone.

Our menu is inspired by the diverse nature of Malaysian cuisine, known for the multicultural influence of countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and China on its cooking techniques and ingredients.

Our idea for Cocomee was to expand on our family's multicultural relationship with food by bringing our personal favourites from Southeast Asian cuisines together into one menu.
Our chefs are committed to delivering the highest possible standard while keeping it affordable- so nobody misses out.

Finally, our 'service' philosophy is extremely simple - we treat you like dinner party guests in our own home, guests who have decided to chip in to experience what we have on offer. No scripts, only bespoke recommendations from the heart (or mouth).

Our Chefs
Our chefs have diverse culinary backgrounds, and collectively, have over 60 years of on the ground experience in kitchens in South East Asia. These range from humble roadside hawker stalls in Malaysia, specialised xiao chi restaurants in Taiwan, Japanese udon restaurants, to the lofty heights of Singaporean-Chinese fine dining at the Shangri-La hotel.

Given this diversity, our culinary philosophy is currently characterised by a commitment to curating authentic flavours; flavours which we feel will appeal to local tastes. In the kitchen, we honour this commitment by respecting traditional cooking techniques - the kind whose secrets are not readily revealed in recipe books.

Whist we aim as far as possible to source from local suppliers, our commitment often requires us to look further afield than the borders of Kent, and also the UK. Many of the ingredients we use need to be sourced from specialist importers.
